Going Full-Time for Klinker Apps

Klinker Apps has always been successful, especially for a two person team. With the amount of quality apps we've released, updates we've provided, community contributions we've made, and support we've given to our users, it is probably a surprise to hear that no one has ever worked at the company full-time.

Jake made a mini-series of blog posts, about some of our history (part 1 and part 2). We have always done this work on top of school, and other full-time (and part-time) jobs. Jake is now working at Google, while I have been working for a fantastic, little software consulting shop, here in Des Moines, Iowa.

No one has ever worked for Klinker Apps full-time.

It has never been a financial decision to keep this as a side job, we just both loved being busy! Today though, I am happy to announce that I will be focusing on Klinker Apps full time. I have been preparing for this for quite awhile, and with my new daughter, there isn't enough time in the day to continue doing everything that I have been and still get to spend my nights with her.

Klinker Apps has been extremely fortunate over the years. I like to say that we were lucky to get picked up at all, but that is only half true. Building the business has been a huge commitment. Jake and I have both put an unthinkable amount of time and energy into our work and supporting it. That hard work shows who we are, and I know that our user's appreciate what we create.

Between a job at the mother-ship for Jake, and now the opportunity to work for myself, I couldn't be happier with the time I have sunk into Klinker Apps. I still have so many new ideas and projects - it's time to start turning them into reality. I can't wait to show you all what else I have been working on!

Today is my last day at Source Allies, so I guess I will be officially starting with Klinker Apps on Monday, not that I will be able to stay away from it this weekend...

Will leave it with this picture of my little girl, Quinn, who is almost 3 weeks old, because I can't make a post at this point, without including her!
